Okorocha, Uduaghan, Fashola others win NEPAD award

Ten state Governors including Governor Babatunde Fashola, SAN, Adams Oshiomhole, Emmanuel Uduaghan and Rochas Okorocha were given awards for their commitment to poverty reduction, infrastructural and educational development at the just concluded NEPAD Business Group of Nigeria, NBGN 2nd annual general meeting in Lagos.
Other Governors who were honoured for their public services on environmental projects and public/private sector initiatives were those of Osun, Akwa Ibom, Kano, Anambra and Kwara states.
The 2nd annual general meeting also witnessed other activities including business lecture and entertainment. Thetheme of the event was-”Nigeria, Current Economic Outlook: Implications for Business Development.”
In his remark, Mr Goodie Ibru, the convener and out-going Chairman of NBGN said: “As I reflect on the past eight years, I am proud of the modest achievement of NBGN as an organisation set up to mobilise the private sector for the purpose of wealthcreation. Within this period, the NBGN has been able to create awareness about its programmes and activities.”
