Igbinedion Varsity lecturer’s body recovered from Ovia River

The body of
one of the lecturers of
Igbinedion University,
Okada, Edo State, who
drowned in Ovia River
last week Wednesday,
has been recovered.
The corpse, identified
as that of Mrs. Shirley
Imade, was recovered
on Saturday, Vanguard
gathered.
Earlier, the bodies of
two of the male
lecturers, involved in
the accident, Mr.
Morgan Uwoghiren and
Lucky Ehiorobo had
been recovered, when
the vehicle in which
they were travelling
was pulled out of the
river after a four-hour
rescue operation.
Late Shirley and three
other lecturers of the
university were
travelling to Benin
from Okada, when
their vehicle skidded
off the road and
plunged into Ovia
River, while avoiding a
head-on collusion with
a trailer that swerved
into their lane while
avoiding a bad portion
of the road.
Benin Tollgate Unit
Commander of Federal
Road Safety Corps,
FRSC, Mr. Ameen
Adewale, confirmed
that the corpse of Mrs.
Shirley had been
recovered.
